Our Commitment
At Dagoba® Organic Chocolate we are committed to creating pure, exotic chocolate which is good for people and planet. Towards that end we focus on Full Circle Sustainability™ principles which inspire us to constantly seek positive change in the areas of ecology, equity, community and quality.
We’re currently involved in a multi-year reforestation program in Costa Rica at the Upala Cacao Cooperative. To date, our sponsorship has funded five plant nurseries, planted 45,000 seedlings and successfully grafted 7,700 trees that have gone to 41 farmers in the region.
Our short term goal is planting 60,000 seedlings with a long term goal of the program becoming self-sustaining. We’re excited to be supporting something that will provide habitat for threatened wildlife, preserve wild trees, sustain family farms and produce high quality cacao.
In the US, we are spreading the word about urban greening by partnering with Garden for the Environment in San Francisco, the Cascade Land Trust in Seattle and Openlands in Chicago. In addition, we are rewarding good works through our Chocolate for Good™ program. Sign up to become part of our Seed the Day™ club and find out how you can get involved.
